Marvel has a first trailer for the new Marvel series for MCU fans as part of Disney+ Days and D23 Expo Secret Invasion released. The reunion with Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury is for next Spring 2023 on Disney+ planned and picks directly from the events of “Captain Marvel” and “Spider-Man: Far from Home”.

What is Secret Invasion about?

The new Marvel series ties directly to the end of the movie “Captain Marvel” and begins about 30 years after Captain Marvel first met Nick Fury and Skrull Talos. The three heroes uncover a far-reaching conspiracy on Earth.

Because now has one creeping invasion started by the shapeshifting Krull.

It even goes so far that at this point you can no longer say with certainty who is a real human and who is a Skrull. It is now up to the heroes to do everything in their power to defend themselves against the enemy invaders.

First cast with Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders

In the meantime, a first cast for the new Marvel series has been set, the one Reunion with familiar characters from various Marvel films promises:

  • Christopher McDonald (“Family Law”)
  • Olivia Colman (Fleabag)

As showrunner of the new 6 part miniseries Thomas Bezucha (Let Him Go) and Ali Selim (Manhunt) are responsible for Secret Invasion. The series is the prelude Phase 5 of the MCU and is likely to entail further series and films.
