You already know: Today is the last “Monkey Island Monday” before the release of Return to Monkey Island. In the last few weeks we have Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman fed again and again with small snippets from their latest point-and-click adventure and thus delighted many players, some annoyed them and others might even be convinced by the polarizing look or at least by buying the game. Grossman is checking in today Twitter to word:

There’s a little formality this week on Monkey Island Monday. But don’t worry, I’m sure it’s fine.

The small formality turns out to be bad news for Guybrush. He finds the former pirate leaders, who gave him the three pirate tests in the first part, in an alley on Mêlée Island. During the conversation, it turns out that Guybrush isn’t officially a pirate yet, as he hasn’t provided all the evidence of his successful exams.

Guybrush won’t let that go by, you can check it out for yourself on September 19th on PC, MacOS and Switch. If you can’t wait, why not while away the time with the “Return to Monkey Island Countdown“.
