Lies of P: 40 minutes of gameplay for the new Soulslike

Lies of P was already able to convince with a trailer at the last Gamescom, now the developers are adding more material. Around 40 minutes shows more details and a boss fight can also be seen.

Lies of P, the Soulslike from the developers of the Korean studio Neowiz, is loosely based on the Pinocchio fairy tale. As a mechanical but extremely well-fortified little doll, the player fights his way through a Victorian-style game environment in search of his builder Geppetto.

In addition to the pretty look, the use of various close and long-range weapons can be seen in the trailer. At the beacons, called Stargazers in Lies of P, materials collected along the way can be used to improve equipment.

This is also bitterly necessary, because the opponents are not only in the majority, but also defend themselves extremely quickly and like to pull off large parts of the life bar with their attacks. After looking at the new gameplay material, there is no question that Lies of P, compared to its genre colleague Steelrising, relies on a rock-hard level of difficulty.

A first look at the Soulslike was already exciting at Gamescom, but the developers emphasize that it will still take a little time for the game to meet their quality requirements.

There is no exact release date yet, but Lies of P should appear sometime in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
