Meta Quest Pro: Found Facebook's upcoming VR headset in hotel

from Norman Wittkopf
Facebook subsidiary Meta plans to launch a new VR headset this fall. By coincidence, there is already an outlook on this.

Meta’s VR headset, which was recently announced for autumn, is shown in pictures and an unboxing video that Ramiro Cardenas from the gaming channel “Zectariuz Gaming” on Facebook publishedafter accidentally finding the boxed device in a bag left behind in a hotel.

The headset shown is similar according to theverge.com the said “Project Cambria” headset, which Meta has been publicly touting since late last year and which has also been featured in leaked setup videos. Cardena’s unboxing video, meanwhile, shows him taking the device out of the box and revealing a black three-camera headset and controller with what appears to be an updated design.

The lettering “Meta Quest Pro” is embossed in the upper left corner of the packaging and a graphic also shows the VR headset and the controller. Cardenas also provided a close-up of the sticker on the box, which reads “Not for Resale – Technical Sample” in English. The finder told The Verge that the owner has now picked up the headset at the hotel.

More in October

Meanwhile, the official launch of the “Meta Quest Pro” headset is expected on October 11th as part of the Metas Connect event. In addition to the headset, other announcements about the plans for Metaverse as well as augmented and virtual reality can of course also be expected. Project Cambria or the Meta Quest Pro is said to be designed as a hybrid device for AR and VR content and also offer internal sensors for tracking facial expressions and eye movements, although the main target group is supposed to be primarily customers in the business sector.
