Patch KB5017328 is now available in the Windows 11 update settings.

A new patch is available for Windows 11 just like for Windows 10. As part of the September patch day updates, Microsoft is bringing patch KB5017328 to the current operating system. Compared to the counterpart for the Windows predecessor, there is also a bug fix that Microsoft has so far solved on the server side, but has probably not yet reached everyone affected. This is now mandatory via Windows Update: if desired, also with the typical buffer time for people who want to – or have to – wait out new updates for the time being.

For KB5017328, Microsoft only lists the item security updates and the information that login problems with new Microsoft accounts have been solved. These appeared a week ago and are no longer included in the list of problems mentioned with the current patch. There are still display problems with XPS files and any errors listed if you use your Windows system in the Chilean time zone.

In terms of security updates, Microsoft refers to the same list that applies to Windows 10. Over 70 individual gaps are listed there. These affected, among other things, .NET Framework, Microsoft Edge, Office, Visual Studio Code, Defender, Group Policy, Kernel, the TCP-IP protocol and more.
