Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is making the internet cry in more ways than one

Yesterday Nintendo announced the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The sequel is titled The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The revelation made friends online – but also interesting criticism in some places.

Good luck, good tears

Most of the internet is very happy with the announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. From hype statements over joyful bouts of crying There are many reactions, including sober acknowledgment.

“I… am HYPED! Such beautiful artwork… I still have to play through BotW!!! AAAAARG, so many good games and they all want to be played… and so little time because of work and co.”, writes a Twitter user. It’s definitely not just him. After all, there is still a little time until May 12, 2023.

This user sees the problem a little more relaxed and is glad even having a Zelda game in hand to pass the time: “The new Zelda trailer looks amazing, I can’t wait for it to finally come out! At least I have Link’s Awakening, which I’ve been reading until then can play.”

A Reddit-User found the solution: “Wake me up when September, October, November, December, January, February, March, April end.” Of course you can do it that way too.

For this user, the announcement came sooner than rescue from his switch crisis: “I was so close to selling my switch at THIS GREAT Direct… luckily they came around the corner with #zeldaTearsoftheKingdom…”. Nintendo has probably played the right cards. Also on Resetera says a fan that the title is “the only reason” he hasn’t sold his Switch yet.

So Tears of the Kingdom still makes the net cry

Well, a new Zelda part is not entirely without criticism and a little whining. Here various negative impressions. This player admitsthat the trailer didn’t pick him up at all: “Somehow there’s no hype, maybe just seen too little or I just wish for a Zelda ala OoT TP WW too much etc…”

There was criticism of the shortness of the trail in several places. Most notably, the Nintendo Direct audience complained that the footage didn’t provide much information about the gameplay. Nevertheless, various theories and questions are raised and discussed. Many players wish for particularly real dungeons.

The second major point of criticism is the title. Many players poke fun at how outrageously inappropriate this is in Britain’s current situation. Some just find it sounds a bit too “edgy”. However, these concerns should be treated with caution.

“We all thought Breath of the Wild was the weirdest title too, so let’s not pretend TotK won’t be rolling off our lips easily in a few months,” says a user from Resetera. Let it sink in first, then see.

The similarity to Breath of the Wild and Genshin Impact is also criticized. “The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom looks like a Genshin Impact clone”, is it[called. “How so?! They NOW announced the game Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom which came AFTER Genshin Impact. This is a blatant rip off”, rages another Twitter user.

Others just don’t like the whole concept. “As an avid fan of the Zelda series, I just know I have to try this game. Unfortunately, so far it’s looking bland, uninspired and rather lackluster,” writes a fan on Twitter.

How did you like the announcement? Have you already formed an opinion or at least a mood for the game or is there still too little material for you?
