The best thing about WoW: Dragonflight? You’ll never have to play Shadowlands again

WoW Chromie Sylvanas Time Shadowlands title 1920x1080

One of the biggest selling points of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight? You no longer have to play Shadowlands – not even to level.

It’s not exactly glorious that one of the biggest selling points of the next WoW expansion Dragonflight is the point that it’s “at least it’s not Shadowlands anymore”. But that’s exactly how it happened. Many simply don’t feel like going to the shadow lands anymore and are longing for something well-known and the Dragon Islands should provide a remedy.

But a nice little thing that also comes with Dragonflight: You no longer have to play Shadowlands – not even during the level phase.

Thanks to the “Chromie Time”, players can simply skip “Shadowlands”.

What will be changed? The “chromie time” is also extended to level range that is actually reserved for Shadowlands. This means you can level up from level 10 to 60 in any expansion that you like.

So far it has been the case that at level 48 you are asked to quest in Shadowlands – from level 50 it is even indirectly mandatory, because from then on quests in the rest of the world no longer give any experience points.

With Dragonflight, that need goes away as chromie time goes up to level 60. So if you want, you can spend the range from level 50 to 60 in Outland, in Northrend or in the garrison on Draenor.

If you don’t want to see the areas of Shadowlands “never again”, you no longer have to with the launch of Dragonflight.

What else is changing? In addition to this adjustment, leveling across the track from level 10 to 60 will also become significantly faster. If the current values are not changed in the Dragonflight beta, then the level goes about 60% faster than before. This is mainly due to the fact that the necessary experience in the range from level 50 to 60 is drastically reduced.

This is the normal step in World of Warcraft, essentially at the start of each new expansion. Because it is currently still the case that leveling between levels 50 and 60 takes almost as long as leveling from levels 10 to 50 – after all, you should level “slowly enough” to have to fully experience the areas of the current expansion .

With Dragonflight, you will probably need about as long from level 10 to 70 as it currently does in Shadowlands from level 10 to 60.

Will there be another “Squish”? With the start of a new expansion, there is always the question of whether WoW will carry out a “squish” again – i.e. a reduction of all character values in order to bring the numbers back to a lower level. That will not be the case. However, Blizzard would like to adjust the item level curve from level 10 to 60 before the release of Dragonflight.

Your characters will still be just as powerful at level 60 as they were before, but the item level will increase significantly on the way from level 1 to 60, so that you will no longer have huge jumps in item level with the transition to the level 50+ range. This is simply to ensure a smoother item level increase during level experience.

Will you still visit the Shadowlands when leveling with alts? Or will you always avoid this expansion in the future?

“Timewalking: Legion” isn’t coming back in Dragonflight either – it was just too successful.
