Troll action around GTA 6?: Excitement about screenshots and gameplay from alleged hack

from Michael Miskulin
Can we now get our first glimpse of GTA 6? A lot of video material of an alleged GTA 6 leak is currently circulating on the net. The leak caused a lot of excitement and speculation in the community.

Is this really our first look at Grand Theft Auto 6, or is it all just colossal trolling? A GTAForums user who also claims to be behind the recent one Uber Hack has posted numerous gameplay clips online purporting to show a work-in-progress build of Rockstar’s GTA 6. Meanwhile, these clips and screenshots are making the rounds on the internet and causing excitement among fans.

The gameplay clips match the Bonnie and Clyde rumors about male and female protagonists of GTA 6. Many of these clips appear to be from the PC version. In the obviously unfinished gameplay passages, let many unfinished textures and 3D models while debugging code runs across the screen in real time. You can also see at the top right of the screen that the game appears to be using the DirectX 12 API. Apparently, an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 was also used to take the relevant recordings. One of the more complete videos shows both gangsters working together to rob a diner and the patrons. Other scenes are much more unfinished.

There’s a good chance that GTA publisher Take-Two may be removing this leaked gameplay footage anytime soon, so it’s worth a quick look. Of course, the authenticity of the gameplay clips is also questioned. As with all rumours, caution is advised with the gameplay clips. Although they look very real and seem already confirmed by some people, it could also be a big troll action and clips could be fake. But if they were actually fake, then the person concerned would have done a lot of work with them.
