The American graphics card manufacturer EVGA recently announced about his forumthat one future no more GPUs for Nvidia will manufacture. EVGA will therefore not be involved in the production of Nvidia’s RTX 4000 series be involved.
Only the remaining stocks of the 3000 generation are still being sold, after which they want to concentrate on selling power supplies and peripherals. So far, the company has been one of the most important suppliers of overclocked GPU models and, according to its own statement, has held on to it about 40 percent of the market share.
The reason for the decision is one poor communication mentioned by Nvidia. Opposite to Gamer’s Nexus it was stated that important details such as specifications or RRP prices of the graphics cards were communicated too late by Nvidia.
Also the Provision of Drivers was criticized because these should not have been complete by the official start of sales. Without using the right drivers, it was difficult to test products adequately.
In addition, EVGA and other manufacturers were contractually prohibited from own innovations like developing alternative cooling systems or faster GPUs. In addition, Nvidia dictates the minimum prices for the graphics cards with their own “Founders Editions”, which means that EVGA has to accept high losses.
Apparently, the production of graphics cards for EVGA involves such a great effort that one would like to turn away from this line of business completely, despite high profits. Also a change to one other GPU developers like AMD wasn’t an option.
