iPhone 14 Pro: Problems with shaky camera & other bugs

offer

The iPhone 14 Pro has now officially arrived in stores – and with it the first problems and bugs. For example, reports from users are accumulating that the camera in some third-party apps such as Instagram or TikTok is delivering shaky videos. And there seem to be some problems with data transfer too.

Since the official launch of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max on Friday, more and more Pro model owners have been reporting initial problems. In the social networks and in Internet forums are piling up loudly MacRumors such as the reports of shaky camera images in third-party apps. Users describe that the camera in apps like Snapchat, TikTok or Instagram shakes uncontrollably and the resulting videos are therefore unusable.

Although the iPhone’s camera app itself doesn’t seem to be affected, the problem can apparently extend to them. At least that’s what YouTuber reports Luke Miani. After noticing the main camera’s focus issues in a third-party app, they subsequently appeared in the regular iPhone camera app as well.

Camera bug: Possible fix with iOS 16.1?

What is behind the problem with the shaking camera on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max can only be speculated at the moment. Apple has not yet commented. The Pro models of the new iPhone generation use image stabilization by means of sensor displacement, which may be acting uncontrolled due to a software bug. If this is the case, Apple should make improvements quickly and could already provide a fix with the iOS 16.1 beta.

iPhone 14: Pro models freeze during data transfer

However, some owners do not seem to get as far with their fresh iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max that they can even use the camera. Apparently Apple is getting to the bottom of a problem with data transfer, reports MacRumors citing an internal memo. Customers describe how the Pro models freeze during the quick start process while trying to transfer their data from iCloud or from the old smartphone to the new one.

As an acute fix, customers should restart their iPhone if it doesn’t respond for more than five minutes, Apple said. It is also advisable to install any software update as soon as possible. Although the current iPhones are delivered with iOS 16, an update to iOS 16.0.1 is already available, which you should install after setup.
