Pokémon GO could get new items and raids – find shows exciting content
Dataminers found fresh content in the new update to Pokémon GO. The “Pokeminers” show some exciting features that could be coming in the future.
What is this find? The APK version of the new update 0.249.0 for Pokémon GO contains some assets that could come into the game in the future. These are files that do not have to be active now, but are intended for later features.
Who found the data? The content was found by the Pokeminers, who have a history of regularly and reliably posting data on new content before it made it into the game.
However, it should be borne in mind that this is a leak, not an official announcement by developer Niantic. This data can therefore still be changed before it is used or not actively come into play.
However, such leaks in the past often pointed to new features. And the new assets look quite interesting.
Dataminer find data about raids for Pokémon GO
This was found: On reddit, the Pokeminers shared some graphics and overviews that indicate various features. This also includes an innovation in the raids.
The dataminers show a new type of “raid egg” called “Extended Raid”. What exactly this is about is still unclear – but “extended” indicates some form of extended raids.
Players in the comments suspect that it could possibly be a new, updated version of the old “EX Raids”. These were raids that required a special invite that you could get by conquering certain arenas.
Special monsters such as Mewtwo hid in it. However, the EX-Raids always had a certain duration – and you had to be there before the raids expired. In 2020 they were removed.
Another player hopes that they might just be longer raids that are easier to defeat with fewer players (via reddit).
In addition to the raid egg, the dataminers have also found a new type of raid item – namely a purple-colored raid pass. Here, too, it is still unclear what exactly is involved.
Players speculate: “I hope the purple pass is a weekly remote raid pass or a rechargeable remote raid pass, by walking or something,” suggests a user (via reddit). That would probably be a popular feature after the disappearance of the passes from the now also removed weekly box.
Just as exciting: In their list of new features, the Pokeminers also point out that there should probably be a “Ready Raid” function in the data (via pokeminers.com). So there is hope that it might be the long-awaited “start button” for raids. In addition, apparently new “raid styles” have been added, called “Triangle”, “Diamond” and “Star”.
But the following applies to all features: There is no further information about it yet.

What else was found? In addition to the new Raid Pass, an item called “Other Evolution Stone A” was also found. Another development item in the style of a Sinnoh stone, metal coat or something similar would be conceivable here.

- “Catch Cards” for the Campfire app
- New boxes
- New decals, apparently for the release of Vivillon
- New costumes for Pokémon

- A “glow” effect for Pokémon
