Just yesterday AMD had per blog post highlighted the advantages of their current RDNA 2 graphics cards (RX 6000 series) for gamers, especially with regard to the better efficiency (frames per second per watt) compared to Nvidia. Now today senior vice president Scott Herkelman via Twitter briefly and succinctly announced that AMD will deliver its new “RDNA 3” graphics cards, which will be called RX 7000, from November 3, 2022. The timing of this news is probably no coincidence as it was just a few hours before Nvidia’s live stream (today from 17:00 CEST) he follows. In this, Nvidia will probably present its new RTX 4000 series.

AMD’s new graphics card series, which is to be manufactured in 5 and 6 nm, is expected to make a noticeable leap forward, especially with regard to ray tracing performance. The top models, on the other hand, will probably have a higher power consumption than the RX 6000 series, so it remains to be seen whether they will also be able to show better efficiency compared to the big competitor. Further official details have been promised by Herkelman shortly.
