First PS1 game on PS Plus allows switching between 50 and 60 Hz

The first PS1 game in Europe now offers you the possibility to choose between 50 and 60 Hz in the PlayStation Store.

This game is the Siphon Filter 2 released this week.

The choice is yours

After the classic PlayStation games were added as part of the PlayStation Plus revamp this year, it turned out that only the 50Hz versions can be played in Europe. These run 20 percent slower than the 60 Hz versions found in other regions.

At that time, Sony responded to the criticism and announced that a change would be possible in the future. Three months later, this is now the case with Siphon Filter 2.

More PlayStation Plus news:

For some released classics it was only possible to play the PAL versions at 50 Hz. However, 60 Hz versions were available from other titles, although there were also PAL versions of them.

It is currently not known when other classic games will follow the example of Siphon Filter 2.
