Galax confirms AD103-300 and -400 for RTX 4080: First custom models with anime design
With the presentation of the RTX 4080 “Boomstar” models of the Waifu series, Galax confirms the two different versions of the AD103, which is to be used on the RTX 4080. Yesterday, Nvidia not only presented the Geforce RTX 4090 (“AD102-300”), the upcoming Ada Lovelace flagship, but also the Geforce RTX 4080, which should be available from November. These are available in two different expansion stages, which should differ significantly in terms of performance and memory expansion. On the one hand there is the Geforce RTX 4080 12 GiB (“AD104-400”), which is equipped with 7,680 CUDA cores and is supposed to achieve a computing power of 40 shader TFLOPs. This would make their performance higher than that of the Geforce RTX 3090 Ti. Nvidia provides an RRP of 899 US dollars for this.

Above that, the RTX 4080 ranks 16 GiB (“AD103-300”) with 9,728 CUDA cores and 49 TFLOPs shader computing power. It should be twice as fast as a Geforce RTX 3080 Ti and consume 10 percent less power than it. A price of 1,199 US dollars seems to be planned. After information about the RTX 4090 SG had already become known from Galax/KFA2, the manufacturer has now officially presented two models of the RTX 4080.
No information is known about prices and availability. However, since these are custom models with printed anime accents and factory overclocking, it can be assumed that the graphics cards will be more expensive than the RRP of 899 or 1,199 US dollars.
