New building game on Steam lets you build a gloomy village that could have come from Diablo

A new single-player city-building game is coming to Steam soon that many probably aren’t on the radar. Gord, a town manager, lets you build your own village in a somber atmosphere that is very reminiscent of Diablo.

What kind of game is this? In Gord, you take charge of a village in a grim setting built around Slavic mythology. Your job is to keep your residents happy, expand your village, complete quests, and maneuver your residents safely through exploration tours.

But beware, many hideous monsters roam the land. You must be careful not to ruin your village. Although the game isn’t from Blizzard, the setting and graphics are strikingly similar to Diablo.

This is what sets the Gord apart: In Gord the safety of your residents is an important point of the game. You must continue to expand your village and also make sure that your people are happy and safe. To do that, you can have various facilities built.

Defense facilities, as well as baths and other monuments can be built. They ensure that residents are retrained into fighters and can relax after their expeditions.

Gord also relies on a lot of freedom here, because your residents are not doomed to stay in their role after training. If you need more archers, you can retrain your axemen at any time. Note, however, the existing skills of your people. For example, the higher they are in combat, the more effective and deadly they fight.

Your skillful selection will be of advantage to you in the course of various expeditions in quests and simple looting. You will encounter many monsters, people or animals that want to get at you. You can then either defeat them strategically in battle or even destroy them with summons.

In the game, however, you follow a single-player story that is divided into several chapters. But you can also create a custom scenario. In this, weather conditions, available POIs, a destination and other modifiers can be set. So you see, there is a lot to do in Gord and you are the boss of the whole story.

When will Gord appear? Unfortunately, this is not yet known. The year 2022 was targeted as the release period. It is not yet known whether the plan will change or when exactly the title will appear on Steam.
