The strategy game Terra Invicta is released today in Early Access on Steam. This is a title from Pavonis Interactive, who previously created the ambitious Long War mods for XCOM and XCOM 2.

The wait for the next possible strategy hit on Steam is over. With Terra Invicta, a particularly ambitious project by Pavonis Interactive is being released in Early Access today. The studio was founded in 2015 and made their name with the popular Long War mods for XCOM and XCOM 2. Thematically too, Terra Invicta appears to be inspired by XCOM, offering players a strategic battle against alien invaders that involves taking charge of a shady organization.

With different ideologies against the extraterrestrial threat

In Terra Invicta the earth must be prepared for the impending invasion as well as the colonization of space must be planned. However, with the nations of Earth unable to collectively confront the alien threat, transnational factions begin the necessary preparations. There are seven groups to choose from.

The players take the lead of such a group, which are characterized by different ideologies. The Resistance is working on organizing an alliance of nations for defense. Humanity First, on the other hand, wants to eliminate all aliens and their sympathizers. The Servants worship the aliens and believe that they will solve all the world’s problems.

In Terra Invicta, however, there is not only a lot going on in terms of geopolitics on Earth. In space, over 300 constantly moving asteroids, moons and planets form a strategic map. Due to their orbits around the sun, possible space stations and forward bases of operations are also in motion, requiring special planning. In addition, access to many resources is required to colonize space.
