What is a QD OLED TV?

Samsung’s OLED TVs were released in May 2022 and are currently available in 65-inch and 55-inch sizes.

In case it hasn’t become clear by now: QLED is not the same as OLED. OLED displays consist of small light-emitting diodes that are controlled individually and can therefore produce particularly deep black levels and bright colors. QLED televisions, on the other hand, rely on LCD, whereby the picture is improved with nanoparticles (quantum dots).

So, as you’ve probably figured out by now, QD OLED is a combination of both technologies. This is an OLED TV whose colors are additionally refined by Quantum Dots. That’s why the OLED TVs from Samsung also have a particularly high color spectrum.

Are the Samsung OLED TVs also suitable for the PS5?

To all the functions of PS5 and also the Xbox Series X to use, you need one HDMI 2.1 port. This is the case with the OLED televisions from Samsung, so you can easily play in 4K and 120 Hz. But these are not the only gaming features of the TV, ALLM (Automatic Low Latency Mode) and AMD Freesync also ensure particularly low input lag. HGiG for improved HDR gaming is also included.

Apart from that, a Neural Quantum 4K processor is installed in the TV, which uses AI to improve the 4K picture. As for the sound, you benefit from Dolby Atmos, so that you can fully immerse yourself in the action even without headphones. Last but not least, the TV also looks very chic and modern and thanks to the thin frame it takes up little space in your living room.
