The Finals: Ex-Battlefield Devs Reveal Abundant Destruction – News

In a first pre-alpha trailer for the multiplayer shooter the finals if you don’t skimp on scenes of destruction of the surroundings, at one point part of a floor falls onto the one below and in the following scene the character jumps onto a completely collapsing building in first-person perspective.

Behind the title is Stockholm-based Embark Studios, whose founders include various former members of DICE, including the former Technical Director Magnus Nordin and Stephen StrandbergCreative Director at battle field 1 (in the test, grade 9.0) and battlefield 5 (in the test, grade 9.0). In its own description, the studio attaches great importance to experimenting with new technologies such as in the field of proceduralization and machine learning.

Centered around an imaginary “combat-oriented game show,” The Finals has an easy-going, high-spirited tone despite the trailer’s heated gunfights. In addition to destruction, the trailer focuses on high agility and mobility thanks to grappling hooks and hard foam cannons.

Alpha testing of The Finals is scheduled to begin on September 29, 2022. The title will later rely on a Free2Play business model.
