WoW WotLK Classic now has leveling gifts and it’s awesome

WotLK Classic launched Tuesday night at World of Warcraft and to my surprise leveling has been pleasantly improved. Suddenly gifts piled up in my inventory, which are really useful.

What is it about? The Wrath of the Lich King addon was launched in WoW Classic on September 27th. This release was in “Retail-WoW” in 2008 and now the Classic players can experience it again. However, with changes. The LFG tool, as you know it from before, is gone and Blizzard has made some leveling adjustments that are really good.

Who writes here? I’m Patrick and I was part of the launch of WotLK back in 2008. It’s my absolute favorite WoW addon and I’ve been looking forward to its release for months. I have leveled all classes multiple times through the world of Northrend and know the areas, quests and leveling experience well.

New Gifts Northrend Adventure Supplies – What’s Inside?

What are these gifts? I hadn’t read much about the content of WotLK Classic before the release and I wanted to be surprised. And I have to say, the surprise was a success. When I finished the first Howling Fjord quest chains, I noticed the presents in the inventory.

Of course I had to unpack one and see what was in it “Northrend Adventure Supplies”, as Blizzard calls the packages, is stuck. The contents of the packs are always somewhat similar and have a selection of potions and elixirs, scrolls for different stats, and food and drink to regenerate health and mana.

Why are leveling gifts so good?

This is the result: After a short level time you have many potions, food and elixirs at the start. In Winterhoof Village, my third port of call in Howling Fjord, I already had a stack of healing and mana potions. In addition, food to regenerate between pulls and enough elixirs that permanently strengthen me when leveling.

In a nutshell: The new packages minimize the time it takes to regenerate and buy food and drink. I can now survive fights with large mob groups more safely thanks to the many healing potions.

Without the gifts, healing potions and elixirs are scarce. Therefore, without the gifts, you had to think carefully about how to deal with the valuable items or visit a friendly alchemist (or the auction house) who would sell you the potions.

A nice side effect is that you can simply sell the remaining potions that don’t suit your class in the auction house. Or even better: You exchange them with other players from the guild or the general chat to get something useful for both sides.

My conclusion: Northrend Adventure Packs have made leveling a lot better for me. I can use the time much more effectively and have to go to dealers less often. The feature is a welcome help for me and many players in general chat are celebrating it as well.

I’m also looking forward to my first dungeons as a healer. Because Blizzard promises tanks and healers bonus loot in dungeons – and there can even be mounts in there.
