Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Death Stranding are two new titles that now benefit from Intel’s XeSS upscaling technology for the new Arc Alchemist graphics cards. Both games recently received their updates. Meanwhile, Intel announced that its GPU flagship Arc A770 will be launched in the US on October 12th

The range of games that support Intel’s new XeSS upscaling technology has recently been expanded. On the one hand, Shadow of the Tomb Raider from Eidos Montreal is now part of the XeSS-supporting range of games. On September 27th, an update message arrived on Steam to add support for XeSS graphics on systems with DirectX 12 compatibility. On the other hand, Death Stranding can now also benefit from the AI-improved upscaling. Kojima Productions’ post-apocalyptic action-adventure recently received an update to support XeSS. The developers write about it on Steam:

“Intel’s AI-assisted upscaling technology delivers ultra-high-definition visualization at the performance level of lower-resolution rendering to create an even more immersive experience for Death Stranding Director’s Cut. We can’t wait for you to see it for yourself try out.”

Support for more and more games, new Arc graphics cards are coming soon

In the meantime support 21 games of Intel’s XeSS with the two new additions, including Ghostwire: Tokyo and The Settlers, while dedicated Arc Alchemist graphics cards are slowly being released. At the Intel Innovation event, CEO Pat Gelsinger announced that the top-of-the-line Arc A770 will go on sale on October 12 for $329.

XeSS has been implemented in current and upcoming titles by Intel together with various game developers for months. XeSS is said to show less smearing than DLSS, but it’s still completely open what the other (reconstruction) properties are like, although Intel is confident that the result will please the players. XeSS should also work on all graphics cards in addition to the in-house Arc GPUs, so that everyone can get an impression of it.
