Cyberpunk 2077: 20 million copies sold
The good news about Cyberpunk 2077 (from 24.00 at buy) do not tear off. Almost two years after the release, CD Projekt Red announces the milestone of 20 million units sold – accompanied by a new player record, supported by the success of the Netflix series Edgerunners.
It takes place in Cyberpunk 2077
After a catastrophic launch, an unprecedented PR scandal about the condition of the PS4 and XBox One versions, including the deletion of the PSN store, the role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 is back on the road to victory. In connection with the launch of the Netflix series Cyberpunk Edgerunners, CD Projekt Red recently reported record numbers of players on Steam, which even exceeded the all-time peak of The Witcher 3.
A new milestone has now been reached. As the publisher announced, 20 million copies of the game were sold across all platforms. While that’s just under half of the mega-seller The Witcher 3, which sold 40 million units in April 2022, that number was reached in just two years, while The Witcher needed four to do so.
Over 20 million cyberpunks have been roaming the streets of Night City – partying with Jackie and getting to know Johnny, driving around with Panam and diving with Judy, hanging out with River and listening to Kerry’s songs.

All good, then, in Night City? Fans have recently been satisfied with the quality of the updates and improvements in Cyberpunk 2077. The announcement of the single-player expansion Phantom Liberty also caused anticipation. The only downside: Players on PS4 and Xbox One will no longer receive updates in the future.
