Cougar Cratus: Unusual PC case with an open frame and curved glass
With the Cratos, Cougar has presented a very individual case that is said to be well suited for water cooling and large graphics cards. Apart from that, the case offers an open frame, two tinted glass side panels, three standard ARGB fans and decent connections on the front. So read more about Cougar’s new Cratos below.
With the Cratus, Cougar presented a new open-air chassis that impresses with its idiosyncratic shape. According to the manufacturer, the housing is shaped like an “inwardly curved roll cage” and offers a steel framework on which most of the important components, including the two tinted glass side windows, are mounted. The mainboard tray is not straight, but is angled slightly forward. Cougar promises better airflow and better temperatures, even on passively cooled components.

On the top, the Cougar Cratos has four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C, a combined microphone/headset connection and a button for adjusting the lighting in the housing, which comes standard with three preinstalled ones 120mm ARGB fans. However, with dimensions of 283 mm x 636 mm x 635 mm (L x W x H), it is a really large case, so the desks should be measured beforehand. The Cougar Cratos is not yet listed in the PCGH price comparison and Cougar has not yet given an MSRP for the case. However, if you compare it with other extravagant cases from the manufacturer such as the Conquer 2, which costs approx. 407 euros is listed, it becomes clear that the price will certainly not be suitable for the mainstream either.
