Even though German Unity Day is being celebrated today, a Monday morning podcast produced in advance is available for you. This time Hagen welcomes Andreas, whom you better than in the comment columns obiwandi knows. He redeemed his joker from last year’s Christmas campaign to do this podcast with Hagen. As always, there’s no shortage of answers to your user questions, glimpses of upcoming GG content, and recent weekend conversations (more or less, since both were recording on Friday). Before that, however, the two talk about a topic that Andreas wanted to focus on, which gave Hagen the opportunity to work on gaps in his knowledge of home computers. Actually, the focus should be more on the Amiga 1200 and the (undeserved?) end of the home computer, but when recapitulating the beginnings of the Amiga and the way to the fall of the home computer, time flew by for both of them.

The timecodes of this episode:

  • 0:01:12 Hagen wishes you a nice Monday and welcomes guest Andreas (aka obiwandi). He takes the rest of the show into his own hands.
  • 0:04:09 The main topic: Hagen took the opportunity to deepen his home computer knowledge and looks at the history of the Amiga with obiwandi. It starts with the prerequisites and the thriller of how Amiga ended up at Commodore….
  • 0:24:55 … Commodore sees the Amiga as the system of the future, puts its faith in the CD too early and overlooks the danger posed by the PCs, which take off with MS-DOS, hard disks and the powerful 386/486 processors…
  • 0:44:02 … How could Commodore’s story have continued and can analogies to current developments in the industry be identified?
  • 0:58:58 What was the last thing we saw and played? Recently Andreas had a lot of fun with it Return to Monkey Island
  • 1:01:28 …and Hagen laughed heartily at the absurd vampire series What We Do In The Shadows
  • 1:04:28 GG week preview
  • 1:06:49 The first user question from Mark K: Do we prefer video or audio content
