CD Projekt Red has in a new Investor call all sorts of upcoming projects announced. It was not only about the future of the Cyberpunk and The Witcher franchises, but also about a completely new IP. We have summarized all announcements here for you as an overview.

New The Witcher trilogy

A new The Witcher saga had already been announced, but not much was known so far. Only a lynx medallion teases the fourth The Witcher so far. CD Projekt Red has now officially confirmed that it should be a trilogy again. In total we can count on three games again.

The game is currently in pre-production with over 150 developers involved in the project. There is no release date yet, but at least the second and third part of the trilogy should appear within six years after the release of the opening game.

We have collected all previous information and rumors about the fourth The Witcher for you here:

The newly announced The Witcher game is being developed by Molasses Flood with support from CD Projekt Red. The title should include a single player experience with campaign, story and quests, but also have multiplayer gameplay. It is described as an “innovative approach to the Witcher universe”. The game is currently in pre-production.

The newly announced game will be developed by a third-party studio run by former The Witcher creators. It is a story-focused single player RPG with an open world. Project Canis Majoris is being developed in Unreal Engine 5.

The Witcher 3 Next Gen

There was also a small update to The Witcher 3 version for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. We still haven’t gotten a release date, but at least CD Projekt Red has stated that the release is still planned for this year.

Cyberpunk 2077 sequel

The game, which is currently called “Project Orion”, will be a direct sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. The title is to be developed internally by CD Projekt Red. Much more is not yet known, only that the sequel wants to exploit the potential of the cyberpunk universe. Since the current status is still given as “to be developed”, the game is most likely still before the pre-production phase.

Before the sequel appears, there is still the story DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. You can watch the trailer here:

New IP: Project Hadar

Also newly announced was a completely new brand codenamed “Hadar” to be developed by CD Project Red. The project is currently still in the concept phase and is not yet actively being developed. The goal of the creators is to create a completely new universe from scratch.

multiplayer future

Project Sirius is the first main game (aside from Gwent) of a CD Projekt Red IP to be announced with multiplayer elements. However, it should not be the last. CD Projekt plans to implement multiplayer in most of their titles in the future.

The goal should be to “enrich the single-player experience.” That’s not surprising, after all, the developer had already announced that future Cyberpunk and The Witcher games should contain multiplayer elements. However, the focus should obviously continue to be on the single player, we probably don’t have to expect a pure multiplayer game in the near future.

Which of the announcements are you most looking forward to?
