The Quarry is the new offer of the week for PS4 and PS5 in the PlayStation Store. The horror game from Supermassive Games (Until Dawn), which was released in June, is 33 percent reduced in both versions. This reduces the price for PS4 from €69.99 to €46.89 and for PS5 from €74.99 to €50.24. The offer runs until 1am on October 13th. Here you can find it:

return to old Strength: After the games from the Dark Pictures Anthology didn’t wow us that much in our GamePro tests, the Supermassive Games studio has returned to the old strength with The Quarry, which it showed on the then PS4-exclusive Until Dawn. Even the initial situation of the two horror games is very similar: while it was about a group of young adults in a lonely mountain hut, this time we are in a summer camp with a clique of a very similar composition. Of course we are hunted there again by murderers or monsters (we don’t want to reveal more details in advance).

QTEs and Momentous Decisions: The core of the gameplay also follows the formula known from Until Dawn. It consists largely of dialogue, exploration, and quick time events, although the latter are a fair bit easier to deal with this time. In addition, we are always allowed to make momentous decisions that determine the further course of the story and decide about the life and death of our characters. The different storylines make it worth playing through multiple times.

Atmospheric stereotypes: Like Until Dawn, The Quarry doesn’t shy away from drawing on numerous clichés from slasher and other horror films. But that doesn’t bother you, but rather leads to the typical atmosphere building up and as a genre fan you quickly feel at home. The characters are also a bit more complex and not as easy to assign to specific types as in Until Dawn. You can find out more about The Quarry in our detailed review:
