Wild Hearts: 7 minutes of monster hunting gameplay

Wild Hearts (Action-Adventure) von Electronic Arts

Since EA and Koei Tecmo presented the brand new title Wild Hearts at the end of September, not only has the hunting drum been beaten, but also the advertising drum. With a new video, seven minutes of gameplay for the Monster Hunter competitor were presented.

In addition to the beautiful Japanese landscape, the spotlight will be on the giant wild boar Kingtusk, the co-op options and the ancient devices that should help you to hunt monsters in Wild Hearts.

Giant hunt for giant wild boar

The star of the gameplay presentation was definitely the Kemono Kingtusk, which should visually remind anime fans of the gigantic boar from Princess Mononoke. In Wild Hearts, too, giant tusks mean big trouble, and with its size and sharp tusks, which it increases even more when it is in distress, Kingtusk causes hell for the hunters in the video.

Luckily, they have a set of ancient tools called karakuri that they can use to keep the boar at bay. A glider and a cable car increase mobility, while flash bombs and wooden walls also appear extremely useful in direct confrontation.

Because feudal Japan was chosen as the setting for Wild Hearts, dense bamboo forests, bright cherry blossoms and bright red torii gates await you in the latest video. Whether you still have eyes for the picturesque landscape during the heated hunt for monsters is of course on another bamboo leaf.

Wild Hearts: EA’s answer to Monster Hunter?

Electronic Arts is the publisher behind Wild Hearts, but the developer studio is Omega Force from Koei Tecmo, who have also produced the Dynasty Warrior games and their numerous offshoots such as Hyrule Warriors or Persona 5 Strikers. However, you shouldn’t expect mass battles in Wild Hearts.

Instead, the Monster Hunter competitor wants to spark co-op hunting fever and offers the opportunity to sharpen weapons with up to two other players, which is why crossplay is supported on all platforms right from the release. Just like Monster Hunter, you can also go into battle alone starting February 17, 2023 when Wild Hearts releases for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S appears.
