According to an insider, the developer of GTA 6, Rockstar Games, was planning to reveal an old secret that would have led to a possible GTA 6 announcement. The big hack in September could have thwarted this plan.

Insider “Tez2” revealed the possible timeline for the announcement of Grand Theft Auto 6 in a series of posts on GTAForums. According to Tez2, the original plan was for UFOs to appear in GTA Online in October. This was planned as part of a Halloween event leading up to a GTA 6 teaser or reveal. The insider claims the event was scheduled for Saturday, October 15 and would include a total of 17 tiers of UFO viewings. The last such action would have finally taken place on Halloween (October 31).

“Of course, plans changed after Rockstar experienced a vulnerability. We don’t know if that means the reveal will happen much earlier or if the vulnerability has caused the reveal to be delayed,” explains Tez2. It remains to be seen whether the originally planned event will actually take place. However, Tez2 has a good track record as an insider – he previously reported that Rockstar Games had canceled the remasters of GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption 1.
