Lengthy player bug – This is how the new trick still works

In FIFA 23, lengthy players are all the rage right now. However, there is a bug that doesn’t change your player’s acceleration style as intended.

VANCOUVER, CANADA – Anyone keeping an eye on the latest tricks at FIFA 23 should know about Lengthy players. The new AcceleRATE movement system in EA’s soccer simulation lets your players have different sprint types. The sprint types of the individual players can even be adjusted through chemistry styles – one would think so. Due to a bug, players cannot become Lengthy players as intended. EA is already working on a patch for the Lengthy bug – we’ll show you how to work around it.

FIFA 23: Lengthy players don’t work – this is how you can avoid the bug

What happened? A new trick is currently making the rounds in FIFA 23 that turns some players into real machines. By customizing the chemistry style, players can fundamentally change how they sprint. This allows you to make your slow players far faster and therefore more playable. We explain everything about running styles, sprint types and the lengthy trick in FIFA 23 in another article.

This is the bug: Like EA on the Official FIFA 23 Trello Board communicated, however, there is a bug that prevents your players from becoming Lengthy. Which of the three types of acceleration a player has depends on their Strength, Agility, and Size stats. For a player to become Lengthy, among other things, Strength minus Agility must equal 14 or more. However, for some players (EA doesn’t specify it exactly either), this number may not be exactly 14. • Acceleration >= 55
• Height >= 174cm

How to avoid the bug: So if you’re encountering the issue of one of your players not getting the lengthy they want with a new chemistry style, there’s a fix. Keep increasing the Strength stat and/or keep decreasing the Agility stat. We have also prepared a list of the best Lengthy players in FIFA 23 for you.

FIFA 23: Lengthy and Explosive players are bugged – EA is already working on fixes

Solution already in progress: EA writes on Twitter that a patch for the problem with Lengthy players in FIFA 23 is already being worked on. All platforms are affected, so there is no disadvantage compared to other players. According to Trello, the Lengthy bug has been under investigation since October 7th (2am) – EA cannot say how long the patch will take.

Explosives also affected: Incidentally, the same bug also exists with explosive players – another of the three sprint types in FIFA 23. Here the sprint type results from the mobility value minus the strength value, among other things. You can see all the requirements for an Explosive player here.

Here it is the case that for some players the value must not be exactly 15, but must be higher. If you look at the solution for the Lengthy bug, you also know what to do here.
