The Callisto Protocol: That’s how long it takes you to play through!

The Callisto Protocol is a brand new horror game that is basically a spiritual successor to DeadSpace is and will be released later this year. The game is from Glenn Schofield directed, the creator of the original “Dead Space”. After leaving Visceral Games and working on Call of Duty for several years, Schofield returns to his horror roots for a new sci-fi survival.

In recent months, the team from Striking Distance already revealed a lot of what the new title will have to offer and delighted fans with it. Now we finally know how long it will take to beat The Callisto Protocol.

Glen Schofield reveals game length of The Callisto Protocol

We are finally approaching the final stages before the release of the new horror survival game and slowly but surely some of the most important details are being revealed. In a conversation with the Edge Magazine told Glen Schofield that “The Callisto Protocol” about 12 to 14 hours is long. In addition there is additional paths, which are called “beta paths”. These change things in the game and extend it at the same time.

What exactly these “beta paths” change, how many of them exist in the game, or how to find them, Schofield didn’t want to reveal because he wants the players to experience it for themselves. He also noted that he wishes players would talk to each other after they finish the game so they can discuss the differences in their runs and hopefully be encouraged to go back and experience it for themselves.

Replayability and post-launch support

It’s still unclear if this means the game will have different endings. Still, it’s safe to say that the “Beta Paths” are a nice touch to keep players coming back and playing more to discover new things.

It is also reasonable to assume that the game will continue beyond the first campaign. Striking Distance is planning a full year of post-release support for the new horror title. It is not yet known in what form or to what extent this will happen.

The Callisto Protocol is out on December 2, 2022 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC.
