WotLK Classic: How to get to Dalaran Tricks and quests explained

Dalaran is the new capital in WoW WotLK Classic and many players want to go there. We’ll show you everything about portals and how you can always travel there while leveling up without placing a hearthstone in Dalaran.

What is Dalaran? The flying city above the Crystalsong Forest in Northrend is an important meeting place in WotLK Classic. There are teachers for various professions, large bank buildings and portals to the capitals of the Horde and the Alliance. There you can register for BGs and Arena and invest hours fishing coins from a lucky fountain.

With so much variety, it’s no wonder everyone wants to travel to Dalaran. In this article we show you the different ways to travel to Dalaran in an overview.

Mage Portal – A very easy way

How does this work? As a mage, you can learn the Portal: Dalaran spell from level 74. With this you create a portal that allows group members to travel to Dalaran.

If you are not a magician yourself, you can ask for one in the main cities or other places. He can then invite you to a group so that you can use his portal. But have a tip ready for this service, which you pay before entering.

Your first visit – what to do? If you got to Dalaran with the help of a magician, you can now place your hearthstone in one of the inns.

• Open the map – you will find Krasus’ Landing Pad there. Get the flight point
• Now use the portal to get to the starting area. Portal to Orgrimmar or Stormwind if you want to go to Borean Tundra. Portal to Undercity or Ironforge if you want to start in Howling Fjord. How to get to the starting areas of Northrend with zeppelins and ships
• Then, when you arrive in the fjord or the tundra, go to a flight master soon. The places Kamagua in the fjord and Unu’pe in the tundra are ideal for this. Take the flight points with you and go on the turtle ship at one of these locations. This will take you to Port Moa’ki in the Dragonblight. Talk to the flight master there as well.
• Now you have a fixed flight connection to Dalaran.

Quest: The Magical Kingdom of Dalaran (do not turn in!)

What is this quest? At level 74 you will receive the quest “The Magical Kingdom of Dalaran”. The quest is about talking to an NPC who will then teleport you to Dalaran. Various NPCs in Northrend distribute the quest and teleport you. These are:

Here’s the trick: If you talk to one of the NPCs, they will teleport you to Dalaran. However, if you don’t turn in this quest there, you can always get a teleportation to Dalaran from one of the NPCs listed above. It is worth not turning in this quest in order to keep traveling to Dalaran with the help of the NPCs during leveling.

Fly to Dalaran with the flight mount

How does it work? To fly in Dalaran, you need Cold Weather Flight. It costs you 1,000 gold. You can then simply fly to Dalaran with your flight mount and land there. Dalaran doesn’t have an “entrance” in that sense. You can just fly in there from above and land.
