Sonic becomes a monster hunter in a new game and his armor is very… special

Sonic Frontiers will be getting free DLC right after release. But not just any, but a Monster Hunter crossover. In addition to a mini-game that revolves around meat on a skewer, there are also two Monster Hunter armors for Sonic. At first glance, however, they seem as if they were really only for die-hard fans – and even some of them are not exactly enthusiastic.

This is what the Monster Hunter armor looks like in Sonic Frontiers

After there was already a Sonic crossover in Monster Hunter Rise, the tables are now simply turned. In this case, that means that in Sonic Frontiers we really and truly have to turn the tables: we can grill meat in a mini game, just like in Monster Hunter. If we can do that, we get a buff.

The free crossover DLC for Sonic Frontiers is supposed to on November 14 appear. This is less than a week after the release of the new open world platformer, which is scheduled for November 8th. You can watch a trailer here:

The heart of the promo crossover of Sonic and Monster Hunter, however, should form the two armors. One is modeled after Rathalos and the other is based on Felyne Rathalos. Here in these artworks they both actually look pretty cool:

But in the game itself, the armor looks a little different. Of course, opinions differ on that. In the GamePro chats, even die-hard Monster Hunter fans threw up their hands and agreed that it didn’t look “pretty cool” at all (like for example GamingBolt writes).

But see for yourselfespecially the bottom two images in this tweet show the armor in detail:

What makes it even more difficult is that Visor of the helmet so completely useless is when it can’t be folded down over the eyes because the spike is in the way. But so be it.

For the sake of fairness it should be mentioned: There are also a lot of very positive comments online. Apparently, the crossover hits a nerve and fans are sometimes downright celebrating under the announcement tweets.

How do you see it: Do you think the armor is pretty or not? Which do you like better and what do you think of this crossover?
