PlayStation Direct already had the PS5 in October. But Sony’s own sale is likely to drop again this month, here’s the situation and opportunities.
Update from 10/12/2022, 8:30 a.m: PS Direct already sold the PS5 this Monday. We expect Sony’s in-house factory outlet to bring the console back to customers next week at the earliest. Don’t forget, however, that PS Direct is pretty much always hot and likes to surprise everyone, invite or uninvited.

The retailer is offering a gated sale for invitees between 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. After that, the open drop could occur again. Such an open sale has ALWAYS happened after a closed drop. So you should definitely be at the start around 12:00 today, because this could be the big sale again.
Update from October 6th, 2022, 7:50 a.m.: This week it should be after the first October sale on 03.10. first stay calm. However, the odds of another October drop on PlayStation Direct are pretty good. Because in the last few months there have always been several campaigns per month – sometimes up to three. Update from 03.10.2022, 09:10 a.m.: PlayStation Direct is back in stock! The retailer surprisingly sells the PS5 on the holiday. A closed drop, i.e. only by invitation, was announced again. Update from 09/30/2022, 07:21: Until yesterday, PlayStation Direct was actually one of the most promising drop candidates for many. Because Sony is unlikely to forget itself when many others are already selling the official FIFA bundle – that’s the train of thought. But a sale today doesn’t seem all that likely anymore.
The obligatory invitations should have gone out yesterday. And so far they are apparently not. As of now, we’ve only come across a single report that Sony has sent out invites for today. Despite doubts and inquiries, this statement was not supported by a screenshot. If you have further information here or have received an invitation for today, please let us know. However, we are currently no longer assuming that anything else will happen at PS Direct this week.

Buying a PS5 from PlayStation Direct: is the 3rd action coming in September?
When was the last time you could buy the PS5 from PlayStation Direct? In September, PlayStation Direct has already held two sales – on September 12th and September 19th, both times with both a closed, invitation-based sale and an open sale for all interested parties. Bundles and the “naked” console were for sale.
What is the current status of PS5 supplies on PlayStation Direct? Even if there were already two drops in September – a third time is definitely still possible and would be anything but pulled out of thin air. Because FIFA 23 is celebrating its release this week, Sony is offering a new official PS5 bundle with the new FIFA – the perfect time to bring it to the people.
Some retailers such as MediaMarkt, Saturn or Spielgrotte have already sold it. And Sony should hardly forget itself when delivering the bundles. So it would be very surprising if Sony itself didn’t go along with the FIFA release this week. Fresh invitations haven’t been sent out yet, but the FIFA release week still has a few days left.
In short: Pay close attention to PlayStation Direct this week and keep a closer eye on your inbox, including the spam folder. There could actually be a September 3 drop here.
