Today, NVIDIA released Game Ready driver 522.25, which primarily adds support for the new GeForce RTX 4090 and day one optimization for upcoming titles like Scorn, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, and Gotham Knights.

However, NVIDIA also has a surprise in store for existing GeForce RTX owners. The new Game Ready driver offers substantial DirectX 12 performance improvements in various games.

NVIDIA provided benchmark information for three of the most popular titles on the list above: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Cyberpunk 2077, and Forza Horizon 5. You can read the full notes by following this link.

The biggest improvements are recorded at lower resolutions. It’s also interesting to note that the more powerful Ampere GPUs received a bigger performance boost than the lower-end ones.

NVIDIA was pretty vague when it came to describing these DX12 enhancements available with Game Ready driver 522.25, though it did say they include shader build optimization, reduced CPU overhead, and resizable BAR profiles. In general, optimizations allow for better use of your graphics card, particularly in CPU-bound scenarios.
