Pokémon Go: Is there finally an update for the outdated world map?
Dataminers from Pokeminers have found graphics in Pokémon Go APK 0.251.0 that give hope that the look of the dusty overworld map could change – to match the Halloween event 2022. But will this also refresh the outdated map data? We hope so!
Pokeminer’s dataminers found some interesting graphics in the latest Pokemon Go APK 0.251.0. They indicate that with the Halloween event 2022 could change some things about the world map of Niantic’s pocket monster collection game. This would be the first time since the release of Pokémon Go in 2016 that the overworld map would be refreshed, at least visually.
The people of Pokeminers found assets for a foggy Halloween skybox, plus dry tufts of grass, pumpkin markers for points of interest like PokéStops, falling leaf effects, ground graphics, and more. This gives hope that an event in Pokémon Go will finally have a real impact on the previously rather sterile and not very homely atmosphere of the upper world.
And the outdated maps?
It is to be hoped that the people at Niantic will update the map material on which the game world is based at the same time as an optical update of the upper world map – after all, it would be a good idea.
Have been complaining for a long time Pokémon Go trainer about the outdated map material, based on which PokéStops and spawn points are created. Some players who live in areas where there has been a lot of construction work in recent years are sometimes still shown the construction sites from the development of the area. And that in turn means there’s a yawning void in terms of wilderness spawns, PokéStops, and arenas – stupid if you live there and actually want to play Pokémon Go.
