Xbox Cloud Gaming joins Meta Quest and Meta acquires three studios

Xbox Cloud Gaming can also be used with the Meta Quest in the future.

This possibility was announced during Meta Connect 2022 and should come “in the near future”.

Meta takes over several studios

“Xbox Cloud Gaming lets you stream hundreds of high-quality games to a range of devices – and that includes Meta Quest 2 in the future,” it says.

“When Xbox Cloud Gaming launches on the Meta Quest Store, you’ll be able to connect an Xbox controller to your headset and play console games from the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate library on a massive 2D screen like you have a private cinema, which is available at all times. A date has not yet been set, but we hope to be able to reveal more about it as soon as possible.”

At the same time, the company announced the takeover of three development studios.

Meta has taken over the studios Camouflaj (Republique, Iron Man VR), Armature (Resident Evil 4 VR) and Twisted Pixel (The Maw, ‘Splosion Man).

As part of these acquisitions, Iron Man VR will be released for Quest 2 on November 3rd.
