As a form of response to the UK regulatory body, the Competition and Markets Authority, which claims that the acquisition of ActivisionBlizzard by microsoft could lessen competition in the gaming market, the company has released a fairly straightforward statement.

This is how Tom Warren let him see through his Twitter account, in which part of the statement stands out. Microsoft points out that Sony’s actions by blocking the arrival of Games Pass on PlayStation they have done more to harm the competition.

“Sony has chosen to block PlayStation Game Pass, making it unavailable on PlayStation,” the statement read according to Tom Warren of The Verge. “As all the games that are available on Game Pass are also available to purchase, PlayStation players will continue to have the ability to purchase Call of Duty on PlayStation. And doing so will continue to cost less than the cost of switching to a new Xbox console.”

Microsoft also notes that this will be the first time an Activision Blizzard game will be available through a subscription service.

“Once again, this increased competition has not gone down well with market leader Sony, who have chosen to protect their revenue from sales of newly released gaes, rather than offer gamers the option to access via of your subscription, PlayStation Plus”.

The UK CMA had previously stated that Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard could realistically affect competition in games consoles. The regulator cited the “network effect” of the market, which causes the most popular console to dock more content, which in turn attracts more gamers.
