The Light Festival event in Pokémon GO is about to start. Trainers can look forward to new Pokémon, XP bonuses, more candies, as well as changed raids, spawns, and research rewards.

What is this event? The Pokémon GO Festival of Light is all about Pokémon that glow or are otherwise associated with light. Certain Pokémon are said to even glow at night. A highlight for many trainers is the release of Bubungus and its evolution Lamellux.

Light Festival 2022 – Launch, Bubungus, Bonuses

When does it start? The light festival kicks off Friday, October 14 at 10:00 a.m. local time. It will then be active until Monday 17 October at 20:00.

New Pokemon: For the first time you can meet Bubungus in Pokémon GO. This can be further developed into Lamellux with 50 candies. Bubungus belongs to the Plant and Fairy types and comes from the seventh generation of the game.

The bonuses:

  • Increased chances of Shiny Lampi
  • You get twice the amount of experience points for catching Pokémon
  • For catching Pokemon, you get twice the amount of Candy
  • Smoke that you activate during the event lasts for two hours

  • If you activate Smoke during the event, different Pokémon than those normally attracted may appear. You can choose from the Light Festival 2022:

With luck also Galar-Ponita* or Galar-Flampion*

Raids: Researches:

You will receive a Timed Research during the Light Festival. The tasks in it revolve around catching Pokémon. For this you will receive a special light pose for your avatar as a reward.

As rewards from field research, you will receive encounters with Galarian Ponyta*, Elektek*, Magmar*, Lampi*, Elezeba*, Dedenne or Bubungus.
