Transport Fever 2: Console Edition announced for 2023
Almost three years after the release of Transport Fever 2 on PC, publisher Nacon and developers Urban Games are now announcing a console adaptation of the popular economic simulation. The Console Edition will be released next year for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. However, the makers have not yet given an exact date. For the implementation, the developers promise an adapted control and user interface. In addition, the graphics have been improved once again by completely redesigning all vehicles such as trains, buses, planes and ships.
“We are delighted to be working with Urban Games and their talented team to publish and distribute this huge success, which is now coming to consoles. This game fits Nacon’s direction very well as it offers a special experience for passionate fans”, Nacon CEO Alain Falc is pleased about the cooperation with the Swiss studio. The new partnership is also praised at Urban Games. Urban Games CEO Basil Weber explains: “We are very happy that we are following the request of the community and Transport Fever 2 (buy now €39.99 / €34.99 ) can bring to the consoles. Our team looks forward to seeing the Transport Fever 2 ecosystem grow even further and in Nacon we have found the ideal partner for these next steps.
The developers have not yet shown what the changes to the operation and interface look like. There is currently no trailer or image material for the Console Edition of Transport Fever 2. However, should the makers succeed in implementing the controls well on the console, railroad and business fans are in for a real hit. Even when testing the PC version, the game was able to convince with a large variety, an extensive fleet of vehicles, a good simulation, a varied campaign, high replay value and a lot of model railway atmosphere. Since the PC release, the developers have also continued to improve the game with regular updates. These improvements certainly benefit the console port as well. It is not known whether the map editor and the mod support will also be present in the Console Edition.
