Dead Space: John Carpenter wants to make a game adaptation – News

The filmmaker showed in the late seventies and early eighties John Carpenterthat it is possible to produce popular and cult films even with a small budget. These include the sci-fi horror film The thing from another world or the dystopian sci-fi flick the rattlesnake.

Opposite the industry magazine The AV Club Carpenter was asked which computer and video games he not only likes but also plays himself. After playing games like Fallout 76, Borderlands and Horizon – Forbidden West called, the question arose as to which video game he would like to film for the big screen.

His absolute favorite is the survival horror game DeadSpace, which will be re-released on January 27, 2023. He repeated his wish, which he had already expressed in an interview in 2013 Game Informer formulated:

I think Dead Space would be a great movie because these people come on an abandoned, decommissioned spaceship and they have to launch it and there’s something on board. This is just great stuff.
