WoW: Even more cuddling - Horde and Alliance will soon share mobs

Horde and Alliance will soon work even better together. More and more faction boundaries are falling in World of Warcraft.

What is “mob tagging” all about? In modern World of Warcraft, most enemies can only be attacked by a certain number of players at a time and give them loot. Whoever attacks an enemy first “tags” this enemy for himself, so he can get booty. Usually enemies can be tagged by 5 players – the 6th player would then see the enemy as “grey” and get no more loot.

Previously there was also a subdivision into factions. When an alliance player attacks a mob, it is gray for horde players.

What will be changed now? The faction limit for mob tagging will be removed. In the future, both Horde and Alliance players can attack an enemy and collect the loot together. However, this does not apply in war mode. Both factions continue to work strictly against each other here and mobs cannot share them accordingly.

With this change, it will no longer be so strenuous for the outnumbered faction to quest in well-populated areas. You then have to “fight over mobs” with the other faction less often and can complete the quest goals together.

Will there be more cooperation? Yes, that’s foreseeable. After cross-faction play in dungeons and raids was so well received by the community, Blizzard has already announced that further steps are to be taken. This poses some technical obstacles for the developers, but the game director has already announced that attempts will be made to introduce cross-faction guilds during Dragonflight.

The interaction of Horde and Alliance is becoming more and more intense in World of Warcraft. If new options are added, we will of course report about them.

What do you think? Is it good that you can always play better with the other faction? Or does that ruin the spirit of Warcraft?
