Radeon RX 7000: AMD is no longer talking about the launch on November 3rd.

from Benjamin Grundken
November 3rd is set, but AMD no longer uses the term launch in connection with RDNA 3 or the Radeon RX 7000 series, but rather unveiling. The rumor mill recently put the start of the new graphics cards at the end of November to December.

After Nvidia surprisingly withdrew the launch of the Geforce RTX 4080 with 12 Gib, AMD is now also pulling back. On first reading, the difference is not even noticeable: Because November 3rd, AMD’s Darren McPhee in the context of the RDNA 3 unveiling names, remains. This was read a few weeks ago by Radeon boss Scott Herkelman different in detail: “Join us on November 3rd as we launch RDNA 3 to the world!” McPhee now writes: “Join us on November 3 as we unveiled #RDNA3 to the world!”

The past shows that launch is not a clearly defined term either. When products are officially launched, they can be placed directly on the shelf. But sometimes they don’t. Nevertheless, one expects at least the publication of test reports, i.e. at least a “ready-to-launch” product. In connection with the Radeon RX 7000, this is obviously not to be expected: at least not on November 3, 2022.

After all, one can assume that AMD will present RDNA 3 in detail, i.e. reveal details about the architecture and the individual models. There are probably also the first price tags and manufacturer’s own benchmarks as well as a firm market launch for the first incarnations of the new GPU series.

In this regard, different dates have recently been circulating in the rumor mill. For example, Navi 31 could see the light of day on November 22nd. This is what “Greymon44” claims when asked the colleagues from the 3D Center. However, the leaker limits the date to the effect that adjustments are possible. “Enthusiast Citizen”, on the other hand, wants to know that the first two RDNA 3 graphics cards will be launched in the second half of December. Guessing and pushing time frames, this will probably not end until November 3rd – only AMD will officially do it.
