Many streamers are currently dissatisfied with Twitch. Apparently also MontanaBlack who is now talking about a change to Youtube and finds hard words.

Buxtehude – There is currently a lot of shaking in the Twitch scene. Recently, casino streams were banned on the platform. A little later, the CEO announced that they wanted to cut the income of the top streamers. They just don’t like it at all. Now Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris also spoke up and announced that he was even considering leaving Twitch.

Twitch cuts revenue – MontanaBlack speaks up and is pissed

What happened? On September 21st, Twitch published a blog post announcing a change to the split for streamer earnings. In summary, it said: Twitch will take more money from big streamers starting next year. There was, logically, an outcry among these. Trymacs sharply criticized Twitch for the revenue regulation.

However, fans showed less understanding for this, after all, it was only about rich streamers. You can find out why this is only partially true here: Twitch cuts the income of streaming stars – that’s why the measure is so problematic. Regarding these comments, MontanaBlack has a clear opinion: “Just because I earn more than average […] Can I still open my mouth if I feel like shit is going to happen.

MontanaBlack Extremely Mad at Twitch – Considering Switch to YouTube

Is MontanaBlack Leaving Twitch for YouTube? In a stream, MontanaBlack spoke at length on the subject and announced what many of his fans probably don’t like to hear. The largest streamer in Germany is apparently not averse to saying goodbye to the platform. He revealed that in his stream in conversation with streamer colleague Staiy.

I’ll tell you quite frankly and honestly: The point at which I would have left Twitch was actually a year and a half ago.”

The streamer was about to change: MontanaBlack’s fast move to another platform was due to a ban he received from Twitch. At that time he gave a sex talk in his stream in which he explained to his predominantly male viewers that it was not about macho behavior. A woman’s needs are much more important than her own ego. During the course of the stream, he made an explicit hand gesture.

This gesture was reason enough for Twitch to ban the streamer for three days. “Those three days really hurt me because to this day I totally unjustified them [finde]“, Monte says in an interview with Staiy. After the ban, he got a call. In this, MontanaBlack was explained that he had always been banned for the same topic in recent years. Another offense would therefore result in a permanent ban.

MontanaBlack was on the verge of making the switch, which is why he wanted to leave Twitch

The straw that broke the camel’s back: According to his own statement, the streamer felt left alone in this situation by Twitch. He therefore approached his contact person and told her that he would consider streaming on YouTube. As a result, the platform approached him. Both parties had worked out an exclusive contract with which the situation should be brought under control.

And holding out after half a year was just too much of a good thing for me. That just made me sad.

MontanaBlack was put off by Twitch for half a year before he was said to have been informed that no exclusive contract could be implemented at the time. “From that point on, it was actually clear to me that if something was cool in any way, it was an alternative […]then I would be ready to take on a new challenge‘ MontanaBlack described his thoughts.

How does it go from here? MontanaBlack seems visibly fed up with developments on Twitch. Only he himself knows whether the star streamer is really leaving the platform, but it doesn’t seem unrealistic. Should YouTube or another platform put together a worthwhile offer, he could actually switch platforms. It is not possible to estimate what effects this will have on the German-language streaming scene.
