Minecraft announces new DLC about Batman

Minecraft has announced a new Batman DLC that will bring Batman, Joker, and Gotham City to the game. Minecraft is one of the biggest games on the planet.

Objectively speaking, it’s the best-selling game of all time by a wide margin and it’s on just about every modern platform you can imagine. It has inspired countless people to use their imaginations and build anything they can think of and the game has only continued to give players the tools to do such a thing. However, in recent years, Minecraft has also started to offer new experiences for those who want a change of pace or perhaps aren’t the most skilled at creating a perfect little world.

This has come through worlds that are pre-built maps that sometimes even have additional stories, quests, or other layers beyond the typical Minecraft gameplay loop. Earlier this year, Minecraft got a SpongeBob SquarePants world that replicated the Bikini Bottom world with quests that recreated iconic moments from the series.

Now, Minecraft is adding a new DLC world that allows you to play as Batman and roam around Gotham City to stop various villains. Teaming up with sidekicks like Robin, Batman will be able to take on the Joker, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and even solve puzzles from The Riddler. It looks like the Batmobile can even be driven in this DLC. The Minecraft Batman DLC will be available for purchase on October 18, so you’ll be able to play it very soon.

The trailer makes the downloadable content look incredibly long and full of things to do. As of now, it’s unclear how much this Minecraft Batman DLC will cost, but if it’s anything like the SpongeBob DLC, it’ll probably cost less than $10. Either way, with Gotham Knights on the horizon, there’s plenty of great Batman game content to dive into this month.
