DualSense Edge: The PS5 Pro controller finally has a release date and price

Sony has just revealed the official release date and price for the upcoming DualSense Edge controller for the PS5.

  • Release date: January 26, 2023
  • Price: 240 euros

In addition to the device, the exchangeable stick modules will also be available separately, costing just under 25 euros. According to Sony, pre-orders are possible from October 25th.

Scope of delivery includes a case

For the proud 240 euros, you not only get the input device itself with the noble controller, according to Sony the following utensils are also included in the packaging of the device:

  • DualSense Edge wireless controller
  • Braided USB cable
  • 2 standard caps
  • 2 high round caps
  • 2 low round caps
  • 2 semicircular back keys
  • 2 lever return buttons
  • connector housing
  • protective bag

All accessories will pack into the included case, and similar to Microsoft’s Elite Series 2 controller, you can also charge the DualSense Edge with the included USB-C cable when the device is in your pocket.

For comparison: The Xbox Elite Series 2 from Microsoft, which can be customized in the Design Lab today, costs just under 180 euros with a comparable equipment package.

What is special about the DualSense Edge again?

Compared to the normal DualSense, the DualSense Edge unveiled at gamescom 2022 gives you the opportunity to adapt even more elements to your playing style and thus possibly be decisive fractions faster and/or more effective in some games such as shooters. For example, the keys can be freely assigned or multiple control profiles can be created. There are also swappable buttons for the back. In a survey we conducted on the Pro Controller for the PS5, most of the respondents stated that they would wait until the price was announced before making a possible purchase decision. These cards are now on the table.
