WoW: Like a speed hack - villain is permanently faster on foot than you are on the mount

How fast can a character get in World of Warcraft? The answer: very. In contrast, even epic mounts look permanently old.

If you want to move quickly in World of Warcraft, you buy a mount and preferably a fast one right away. But many a player should be amazed when the Reddit user “CASMTHD” runs past them in Azeroth.

Because even on foot he is faster than others on a mount – and that permanently. He released a video showing his villain Shavka at ridiculous speed.

What is there to see? The video only shows the villain and her gear for the first few seconds, so everyone can get an idea of how these massive bonuses come about.

Shortly thereafter, Shavka starts moving at a speed that would probably result in many a speed camera photo in Stormwind. In a constant sprint he dashes through the city and makes sure that many people look around for the villain in confusion.

Being in a capital city also allows Shavka to permanently activate the Night Fae Soulform and use the Somnambulist Soulbind perk. Some toys disable the Soul Form’s appearance, allowing the character to retain its original appearance.

This causes Shavka in Stormwind to constantly dash through the streets and alleys of Stormwind at a whopping 314% of his original movement speed.

By the way: Don’t let the “32%” in the character screen confuse you. World of Warcraft does not summarize all speed increases there, but only those due to the tertiary attribute.

How is that possible? The rogue combines a whole bunch of different effects for these crazy speeds. This includes above all the tertiary value “movement speed” (“Speed”), but also other bonuses, such as Azerit bonuses from “Battle for Azeroth” that are still active. Combined, Shavka has 207.45% movement speed, all from passive effects that are persistent.

If he adds other bonuses, albeit short-lived ones, he can go as high as 374% for a short time – only just behind the speed of the fast flying mounts.

What does Shavka use the speed for? Basically to show off a bit in a playful way, to amaze role-players a bit and just to get through the world faster. However, the set is also good for quickly farming dungeons or old raids and thus reaping mounts, toys or achievements. Because often the long distances are the problem in the old content and every acceleration ensures that the content can be farmed faster and thus more efficiently.

Have you got yourself a “speed set” in the meantime?

Another villain once became invincible with 100% dodge – but in WoW Classic.
