Silent Hill: Ascension: Is a unique interactive streaming experiment
In the first details about Silent Hill: Ascension, it was announced that it is a one-off interactive streaming experiment.
Several new projects surrounding the Silent Hill brand were announced this week.
Developer Bloober Team is working on a remake of Silent Hill 2, while Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall are brand new games.
Finally, the interactive series Silent Hill: Ascension announced, for which initial information is now available.
Silent Hill: Ascension is a streaming event that will only take place once. This was reported by insider Dusk Golem, who spoke to Jacob Navok, CEO of Genvid. Genvid is a streaming software manufacturer.
Ascension is a narrative branched cloud streaming experiment. A Silent Hill miniseries of sorts where players decide collectively via chat what happens next, creating their own adventure and canon for the series. Navok also stressed that the whole thing will only air once.
In the experimental stream, the participants in the chat will decide things like relationships between characters and life and death.
Thinking of Telltale games where such decisions need to be made dozens of times, it shouldn’t be surprising to find former Telltale employees working on Silent Hill: Ascension. In fact, the whole thing sounds like The Walking Dead: Last Mile, another Genvid interactive streaming event.
In addition to the projects mentioned, Konami intends to enter into further partnerships in the future in order to bring more games in the series to the market.
