WoW: Dragonflight: Now official – weapon illusions planned for artifact weapons!
While weapon illusions for artifact weapons were only briefly available in the WoW: Dragonflight beta, the community is now even more demanding that this feature be implemented. And Blizzard is finally responding: There’s an official statement suggesting when we’ll get this feature.
The artifact weapons from WoW: Legion are still among the most popular items in WoW – after all, they are fantastically designed skins that perfectly complement our classes in Azeroth. But the tools of war still have a small drawback compared to normal weapons: Artifact weapons cannot carry weapon illusions. But this disadvantage should come to an end in the near future – the WoW developers officially emphasize this after this function was briefly available in the Dragonflight beta.
Artifact weapons get weapon illusions in WoW: Dragonflight
In a thread on the Blizzard Forums Community Manager Kaivax speaks up. Because while artifact weapons briefly had the ability to have weapon illusions in the beta, that feature was quickly disabled – players want the action to be reverted. And Kaivax agrees with them!
This is how it is currently with artifact weapons in WoW: The prestige items have to do without weapon illusion – but according to Blizzard, that will change in Dragonflight.

skepticism in the community
In the same discussion thread, some players are also skeptical. Finally, those that have not been available since Shadowlands should also WoD armor sets to be brought back in a “future patch”. – but that has not happened so far. However, the statement “shortly after the launch of Dragonflight” is definitely a more precise statement.
The cool feature with colorful shimmering shine in all imaginable designs has recently been impressively expanded again by Shadowlands – the four pacts of the shadow lands have special weapon illusions that are really impressive.
