Raijintek Morpheus 8069: Huge graphics card cooler also for RTX 4000

from Maximilian Hohm
On 01.11. Raijintek’s new Morpheus 8069 will be presented. The graphics card cooler can cool more than 360 watts with two fans of your choice and is also approved for the fastest current graphics cards. So far, however, it is not known how the lack of contact between the cold plate and the power supply and the meanwhile good reference models of the graphics cards will affect sales. Read more about this below.

In recent years, the reference designs of the current graphics cards have improved significantly and meanwhile Nvidia’s Founders Edition and AMD’s reference models are definitely worth recommending. In addition to the high processing quality, they also offer the best conditions for finding a compatible water cooling block and the high-end models were still a bit more compact than the expansive custom models. This change is not bad per se, but it has severely decimated the market for aftermarket air coolers in the graphics card sector.

Nevertheless, Raijintek has now presented the new Morpheus 8069, which is said to be compatible with both AMD and Nvidia graphics cards. The cooler has twelve 6 mm heatpipes and can be equipped with fans according to user requirements. The cooler’s coldplate covers the GPU and graphics memory but leaves out the power supply, which could put the cooler at a serious disadvantage compared to neat custom designs. AMD’s RX 6000, Nvidia’s Geforce RTX 3000 and the RTX 4090 are officially supported.

According to the manufacturer, the Morpheus 8069 can dissipate up to 360 watts, which would include an RX 6900 XT or Geforce RTX 3090, and depending on the fans selected, the cooling capacity increases beyond that, which is why models like the RTX 3090 Ti and RTX 4090 should also be compatible. So far it is not known at what price the new air cooler will be available on November 1st. is to be published and, accordingly, how difficult his standing will be.

However, the volume should be extremely low through the use of regular case fans. The cooler is expansive, so it is important to check whether your own case offers enough space. In addition to the actual cooler, the scope of delivery also includes heat sinks for the graphics memory and the VRMs. Fans and backplate must be purchased separately depending on graphics card and noise requirements.
