WoW: Dragonflight: Community laughs at new interface options
In addition to major features in WoW: Dragonflight – such as dragon riding, the new caller class and the Dracthyr people – small comfort adjustments are also waiting for us to finally be able to use them. Above all, probably the revised interface in World of Warcraft, which after years without any adjustments worth mentioning is finally getting a makeover. We will finally get an interface adapted to our needs without third-party add-ons, with movable areas for skill bars, minimaps, character windows, etc.! To make this clear, the people at Blizzard have now released a few example images. Above all, one of them has meme potential and causes laughter.
“What have you done?!” – Community responsive to Blizzard’s interface
There are four example images for possible interface designs in Dragonflight via the official WoW account on Twitter. While number 1 is relatively classic, number 2 focuses on the team with huge health bars. Number 3 is a sleek adventurer look that leaves much of the field of vision alone. But number 4 is… oh see for yourself.
Pre-order now: The great ABC of World of Warcraft!
In this absolutely insane example, the interface covers the center of the image, with the mini-map directly above your character surrounded by a sea of color-coded skills. Framed by the chat window and an avalanche of quests – meanwhile the edge of the screen remains uncovered. Truly a work of insanity. Also find the community highlighting this with a hilarious video on both Twitter and Reddit that is being celebrated by WoW fans:
Blizzard itself knows how ridiculous that is
The icing on the cake – as one user noted – is that the official Twitter post is provided with ALT texts, i.e. descriptions. Example number 4 clearly spells out what the developers think, despite previously speaking of “perfect UI options for you”: “The scene features a character conversing with an NPC in a red, dusty, Badlands-like environment. It’s difficult to make out details as the focus of the image is a cluttered and chaotic UI. Many windows are open and there are dozens of badly positioned keyboard shortcuts.”
In a nutshell: “The Warlock has problems“writes user D1sclos3 under the video. Which interface would you prefer for your character? Do you know someone who even plays like this? Do you see him when you look in the mirror?? Tell us in the comments what you think the perfect interface needs!
