Is Coral Island coming to the Switch? Yes, the Nintendo Switch version was a stretch goal of Coral Island’s Kickstarter funding. The crowdfunding goal was also achieved within a very short time. So that means we can definitely look forward to playing the lovely Stardew Valley alternative on the Switch as well.

When is the Switch version coming out? Unfortunately, there is no fixed date for this yet. Currently, Coral Island was only released on the PC, and only once in Early Access. It has just started and is expected to take about a year to complete the game. Experience has shown that such an early access phase can sometimes last longer.

The regular launch of Coral Island does not have an exact release date yet, but was planned for the fourth quarter of 2022 at the very beginning. Originally, however, Early Access should have been running for a year at this time. So if the game is to remain in Early Access for that long, it could end in late 2023.

You can find the current one here Roadmap to Early Access, but it doesn’t mention the Switch version. In the older FAQ from Coral Island However, the people behind the game do provide answers to questions about the console version.

According to the Coral Island development studio, the original plan was to release the console versions approximately six months after the Early Access launch. However, that cannot be said with certainty because all platforms have different guidelines and specifications.

Ideally So Coral Island is already appearing in half a year also on the Nintendo Switch. That would be really optimistic though, and we’d be more cautious about expecting it to take a bit longer, maybe even to the end of 2023.

Otherwise, of course, there is also the (quite expensive) option of switching to a Steam deck. At least then you could play Coral Island on a handheld, right now. However, it is certainly not worth it for one game, but only if you often encounter the problem that you would like to play PC games on the couch, on the go or in bed.

How important would a release for the Nintendo Switch be to you?
